About VICSEG New Futures

VICSEG New Futures is a not for profit community organisation offering various services to recently settled migrant and refugee families for almost 40 years. VICSEG New Futures' registered training organisation, New Futures Training, was established in 2002 and provides vocational training and pathways to employment in the human services and care sectors.

New Futures Training specialises in training people from migrant refugee backgrounds, particularly women, including those with limited experience of formal education. Up to 3000 students train with New Futures Training over a year.   

We are looking for a Casual Vocational Trainer to co-deliver Family Violence training to our students and staff from external ethno specific organisations. 

Duties

  • Co facilitate the delivery of the Course in Identifying and Responding to Family Violence Risk to students via Zoom and/or in classroom.
  • Complete all the administrative requirements associated with the course including correcting completed work and monitoring attendance records, corrections, student progress and outcomes
  • Fulfil other duties as required by management and other department personnel as requested/required

 Skills and experience

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or the capacity to complete the Certificate IV qualification within 6 months.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or significant experience in social work, community development, human services or welfare
  • Experience in undertaking risk assessment with victim/survivors of family violence 
  • Experience working in family violence crisis response, case management and/or recovery programs
  • Experience in the development, delivery and evaluation of training for adult learners 
  • Knowledge of AQTF requirements through experience in or with a Registered Training Organisation 
  • Proven computer skills and excellent written and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience with using online learning platforms (LMS) is desirable
  • Exposure and experiences working in a multicultural environment with an understanding and empathy with issues faced by migrants, refugees and people from a non-English speaking background would be highly desirable.
  • Experience of working in a multicultural environment with understanding and empathy regarding issues faced by migrants, refugees and others from non-English speaking backgrounds.
