Want to be a part of a collaborative and engaged team of professionals, working for a national peak body? Horner Recruitment is proud to be partnering with Speech Pathology Australia to appoint a Membership and Administration Assistant.

Working with the Member Services team, the successful applicant will be a motivated and upbeat individual who thrives in collaborative environments and has a second nature for providing customer solutions.

About the role:

  • Great CBD location on William Street – 500m walk from Flagstaff or Southern Cross Station
  • Collaborative and cohesive team
  • $55K + super
  • Build up your hours and take a monthly RDO

Role responsibilities:

  • Assess and process all membership inquiries, applications and renewals including outbound follow up and welcome calls, as required
  • Update member applications when required and ensure data accuracy and consistency
  • Assist with event administration
  • Assist with AGM coordination
  • Coordinate flights and accommodation for various events
  • Process applications – check all relevant documents provided, batch & process payments, send to eligibility assessor for assessment
  • Assist with reception duties, including response to all phone calls and email correspondence; follow up of matters or requests made through Reception; mail dispatch and distribution
  • Print and mail certificates, tax invoices and new member packs


Key selection criteria:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years office experience
  • Outstanding customer service skills – be able to empathise with customers and have a genuine desire to proactively find solutions for members
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in telephone systems and professional telephone etiquette
  • Excellent communication
  • Effective time management skills
  • Experience in a Membership not-for-profit organisation
  • Experience in iMIS database searches and data entry
  • Competent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
