Shelford Girls’ Grammar seeks to employ a dynamic, experienced and inspiring educational psychologist for this part-time permanent position (2 days per week). The successful candidate will possess a strong knowledge of issues facing girls and young women today, and a passion for working with students to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Reporting to the Director of Student Wellbeing and Development, and working with two other school psychologists, the School Psychologist will be expected to work collaboratively with the School Executive, the Director of Student Enrichment and Support, Year Level Coordinators, the Heads of Junior School, staff, external providers and parents, to positively influence the learning and emotional well-being of students at Shelford Girls’ Grammar. The School Psychologist will be expected to support the wellbeing of students across the whole School, primarily working with students in Years 7 to 12. This involves collaborating with others about learning, social or behavioural problems that students may be experiencing, and the development of personalised strategies to enable students to work through their concerns or difficulties.

The successful candidate will possess:

· Current and full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.

· Practice endorsement in Educational and Developmental Psychology (preferable but not essential).

· Experience working with children in an early childhood, primary or senior school context.

· Strong knowledge of issues facing girls and young women today.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

· Strong presentation skills.

· A capacity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.

· An ability to maintain confidentiality.

· A strong work ethic and ability to adhere to timelines.

· Demonstrated flexibility to respond in a timely manner in response to possible critical incidents.

· Current (or be willing to obtain) a Working with Children Check.
