This is an exciting opportunity for Junior Medical Officers to play a key role in Western Health’s COVID-19 Vaccination Strategy. This is your chance to play a part in Australia’s COVID-19 Vaccination roll out.

About the role

Western Health’s COVID-19 Vaccination Hubs have been rapidly established to provide COVID-19 vaccinations for priority groups according to the Commonwealth Vaccination Strategy, and more broadly across the community of the West.
The COVID-19 Vaccination Hubs are currently located at the Melbourne Airport and at Western Health’s Sunshine Campus. There will potentially be future sites based at other locations following the identified need for high volume vaccination sites across the west of Melbourne.
The Medical Officer role includes assessment and review of higher risk vaccine recipients, reporting of adverse events, referral to specialist services and working closely with the vaccine hub leadership team to ensure the vaccine hubs are operating to the highest safety standards. The Medical Officer has the support of the Infectious Diseases Team.
Flexibility will be essential in this role as the COVID-19 Vaccination Hub and Sub-Hub/s are likely to also be established off site in locations other than Sunshine Hospital. The flexibility and adaptability to move sites, modify hours, including start and finish time, and to pivot to changes in supply and demand at very short notice are key requirements of the role.
