An opportunity exists for a Research Assistant to join the Immune Defence Laboratory within the Centre for Cancer Immunotherapy.

We are looking for a motivated and skilled Research Assistant to join our laboratory as part of the Cancer Immunology Program within the Centre for Cancer Immunotherapy. The Cancer immunology Program incorporates a team of 80 researchers dedicated to understanding the immune system and harnessing its potential to treat cancer. The position encompasses a central role supporting projects investigating novel therapies to enhance anti-tumour immunity, including new treatment combinations to improve response rates to immunotherapies such as immune checkpoint blockade and adoptive CAR-T cell therapy.

Suitable candidates will possess a relevant science degree and be passionate about cancer research. Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience in high quality immunology research, with technical skills in tissue culture, particularly in the culture of primary immune cells and multi-colour flow cytometry. Experience in mammalian molecular biology and animal experimentation is highly desirable. The position also requires well developed written and oral communication skills, the flexibility and ability to develop new skills and a high level of organisational and time management skills.

This position is 12 Month Fixed Term Full-Time with the opportunity to extend.
