Our barista is a key member of our team at Our Community House. We are searching for an engaging person who is passionate about people and coffee, enjoys engaging with customers and is capable of working alone. The barista will open the cafe in the morning and close the cafe in the afternoon.

Barista Responsibilities

Warmly welcoming and engaging with customers.
Making consistently amazing coffee.
Accepting orders and payments.
Serving pre-prepared foods.
Grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea.
Cleaning and restocking work and dining areas.
Emptying trash and sanitising equipment and utensils.
Taking inventory and replenishing items on display and in storage as needed.
Connecting with members to provide a positive service experience.
Keeping on top of industry trends to offer suggestions as we continuously improve our offering.
Providing assistance with catering for guests at events and meetings when required.
Working with our front of house team to greet guests and members as part of our front of house reception service.

Specific Barista Requirements

High-standard barista skills on a commercial machine.
Experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service preferred.
Experience using point of sale software and hardware.
Ability to offer a fast turn-around of orders while maintaining quality.
Great customer service, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience following health & safety policies and procedures, legislation, and standards.
Experience following industry and café trends.
Availability to work from 7am if required.
Outgoing personality and a really strong work ethic.
