JOB DESCRIPTION

The Complaints and Research Assistant is responsible for handling complex public enquiries and complaints, and providing high level research and administrative support to the Integrity and Oversight Committee. This is a full time, ongoing position.

About the role

The Committee consists of members drawn from the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly and is responsible for monitoring and reviewing several integrity agencies in Victoria.

Reporting to the Senior Research Officer in the Integrity and Oversight Committee, you will handle complex enquiries and complaints from the public, ensuring confidentiality and diplomacy is maintained on sensitive issues. You will also provide high level research and administrative support to the Committee in order to meet regular and tight reporting deadlines.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have proven research and writing skills and possess demonstrated expertise in provision of administrative services. 

With experience in managing challenging complaints, you will be resilient, and a strong communicator who works well under pressure and be known as a collaborative team member.

You possess the capacity to quickly develop knowledge of legislation and procedures relevant to the work of the committee and provide accurate advice to internal and external stakeholders based on this knowledge.
