  • The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), the principal organisation representing the medical speciality of psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand, is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our Education & Training department. 

    The role is broadly responsible for the provision of administrative support for the RANZCP examinations and assessment activities, particularly for the support with the conduct and marking of Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE), the written examinations, and other assessments.


    Duties include but are not limited to the review and process of exam applications and results reporting, administrative support, assistance with the preparation of examination materials, preparation of information for provision to relevant stakeholders and team members, and administrative assistance with supporting relevant committees.

    This role has a specific focus to:

    • Provide general administrative support for the OSCE and other examinations in a professional and timely manner.
    • Support the routine processing of assessment applications and some of the results reporting processes.
    • Preparing documentation and data entry/record keeping, and other administrative tasks related to the delivery of the College’s examinations as instructed
    • Assist with the booking of domestic and overseas travel and accommodation arrangements for stakeholders and staff, ensuring compliance with relevant RANZCP policy and practice.
    • Assist in the planning and scheduling of meetings relating to examinations and attend as required
    • Assist the team with the daily administrative tasks to support continuous improvement of administrative operations.
    • Assist with the testing of improvement activities undertaken in InTrain (Training Management System)
    • Assist with various projects requiring administrative support and administration as directed by the Manager, Assessments, Executive Manager, and Examinations Coordinator.

    The successful candidate will have:

    • Proven ability to work as a member of a team and carry out duties autonomously.
    • Genuine commitment to meeting deadlines and providing high-quality administrative support to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ability to identify errors, problems and escalate them as required for resolution.
    • Excellent time management and organisational skills including the ability to plan, set priorities, and meet deadlines, with the flexibility to alter priorities to meet changing demands.
    • Proficient computer skills, experience with MS Office programs including Excel, and sound understanding of databases.
    • Experience in an administrative and/or education and/or membership environment is desirable.
