Casual Clinical Pharmacist


The Royal Women’s Hospital is Australia’s first and largest specialist hospital dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of newborns and women of all ages. The Pharmacy Department provides a comprehensive pharmacy service to all patients of the hospital. Our major areas of focus are the safe use of medicines and the quality use of medicines; providing information as required to consumers and healthcare professionals. We liaise with the following groups as part of the multidisciplinary team caring for our patients – nursing and midwifery staff, medical staff and other allied health groups.



Your contribution 


The clinical pharmacist has the responsibility for safe and effective pharmacy service.


Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:



  • Responsible for daily activities and co-ordination of the rostered area

  • Provides a service in line with the SHPA standards of clinical pharmacy practice

  • Communicate and liaise with patients, medical, nursing and other professional staff as appropriate

  • Assist with various additional departmental duties as required


About you


To be successful within this role you will need to have:




  • B. Pharmacy or equivalent




  • Registered to practice as a pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)




  • General Pharmacy knowledge and experience relevant and appropriate to the position




  • Competent computer literacy including use of a PC, mouse, keyboard, standard Microsoft office software’
