Your role in our future.

We are looking for two experienced administrators and passionate patient advocates to join the Patient Navigator team as Team Leads at Peter Mac. We have two full time, 12 month fixed term positions available.

At Peter MacCullum Cancer Centre, our patient care is delivered via the tumour stream model. This means that a patient's care is coordinated and provided by a multidisciplinary team of people who have a specialist knowledge of specific type of cancer. Patient Navigators work closely with the tumour stream specialist nurses and doctors who will provide support and direction regarding daily work priorities such as a Multidisciplinary meetings (MDMs). The Patient Navigator is responsible for guiding the patient through their cancer care treatment by ensuring patients' diagnostics, treatment and clinic review appointments are appropriately timed, sequenced and coordinated.The Patient Navigator is an integral member of this care team, playing an important role in providing the first line response to incoming calls from patients, carers and referrers in the community to best assist patient care.

We are looking for innovative, driven and compassionate leaders to join Peter Mac in these dual Team Lead roles, supporting four Patient Navigator groups. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to help develop the position over the initial 12 month term. To be successful in this position you will be highly motivated and have a demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively with the multi-disciplinary team. You will ideally have prior experience in health care in a previous leadership role. You will also possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, and a commitment to excellence in patient care, attention to detail and service delivery.If you have a "can do" attitude, the ability to meet short term deadlines, you are comfortable working in a high pace/high pressure environment and have exceptional communication skills to provide the best patient care experience, we would love to hear from you.
