JOB DESCRIPTION

Casual Positions

We are looking for enthusiastic and adaptable Cooks to join our Food Services team in casual roles. These roles will suit qualified cooks who have an interest in preparing nutritious dishes and are looking for family friendly working hours with no split shifts.

Responsibilities of this position include maintaining a high standard of satisfaction through the delivery of food and beverage services and understanding the importance of the BRHS Food Safety Plan and the special dietary needs of BRHS patients and clients.

The successful applicants must be willing to multi-skill within the BRHS Food Services team, have a positive attitude and embrace new systems and processes as they are introduced. Applicants must also have flexibility to work across a 7 day work schedule.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • Trade Certificate in Cooking
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate
  • Work experience in a commercial cooking environment with a minimum 12 months experience as cook
  • Knowledge and ability to cook and prepare meals for clients with special dietary requirements;
  • High level interpersonal skills and the proven understanding of the need for effective communication within a team based service environment;
  • Proven ability to learn departmental specific procedures and practices;
  • Demonstrated commitment to and focus on customer service;
  • Well-developed organisational skills;
  • A flexible approach to tasks with the ability and willingness to learn and implement new recipes that are healthy and nutritious;
