About the Opportunity

Pioneered by St John in 2012, the First Aid in Schools program provides the opportunity to instil early learning First Aid in our children for their lifelong ability to respond in an emergency. As the Presenter you will deliver engaging and age appropriate First Aid information and training to children across Primary Schools in Victoria, with related demonstrations in community settings and child safety language and procedures. The role also facilitates the St John Mobile CPR Learning Lab, which is our community focused lifesaving initiative to build resilience by training more people in life-saving CPR.

The First Aid in Schools program is only scheduled during school terms. Presenters will also be deployed for CPR Lab during weekends and after business hours.

About You

We are seeking positive, outgoing, and self-motivated individuals to deliver modules throughout the 2021 school calendar. This role is to those seeking a work-life balance and someone who is keen to develop their career with St John as we support our people through their talent journey with opportunities available across the organisation.

Experience delivering learning and presenting to children and youth is essential. We will be considering candidates who are able to commit to 3-4 days availability per week.

Note: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable.

Essential Skills and Attributes (Selection Criteria):

  • Experience in instructing or presenting to school children.
  • Demonstrated maturity and ability to engage and communicate with various stakeholders.
  • Availability of 3-4 days per week during school terms, and flexibility to work weekends and after business hours.
  • Ability to effectively represent the St John brand by demonstrating positive behaviours and values.
  • Ability to adhere to established program guidelines and company policies.
  • Strong administrative and record keeping skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills and Microsoft Office use, i.e. Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to be flexible in working hours (casual).
  • Willingness to travel across metro and regional Victoria.
  • Current Driver Licence, reliable vehicle and roadworthy.
  • Willingness to undertake a current Police check and Working with Children Check.
